Terms & Condition

Effective Date: 19 Jan 2025

Welcome to Lifeline Safaris (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking or engaging our safari, tour, transportation, accommodation booking, or related travel services (“Services”), you (“Client,” “you,” or “your”) agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

  1. Services Provided Lifeline Safaris specializes in personalized and group safaris, wildlife tours, cultural experiences, airport transfers, hotel/lodge bookings, car hire (self-drive or chauffeured), and other travel arrangements primarily in Kenya and East Africa (e.g., Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo, Serengeti, Lake Nakuru). Specific itineraries, inclusions, and scope are detailed in your booking confirmation, quote, or separate agreement.
  2. Client Responsibilities
2.1 Accurate Information: You must provide complete and accurate details when booking, including passenger names (as per passport), ages, nationalities, special requirements (e.g., medical, dietary), and any relevant health/visa information.
2.2 Compliance: You are responsible for obtaining necessary visas, passports, vaccinations, travel insurance, and ensuring compliance with all laws, park regulations, customs, and entry requirements of origin, transit, and destination countries.
2.3 Conduct & Safety: Participants must follow guide instructions, park rules, and safety protocols during safaris. We reserve the right to remove any person whose behavior endangers others, wildlife, or property (no refund in such cases).
2.4 Health & Fitness: Safaris may involve physical activity (e.g., game walks, uneven terrain). You confirm you are fit to travel and disclose any medical conditions.
  3. Bookings, Pricing & Payment
3.1 Bookings: All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation in writing (email or contract). A deposit (typically 30–50%, as specified in your quote) is required to secure the booking.
3.2 Pricing: Quoted prices are estimates based on current rates and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Final costs may vary due to currency fluctuations, park fees, fuel surcharges, taxes, or itinerary changes.
3.3 Payment Terms: Full balance is due [e.g., 60–90 days] before departure (as per your confirmation). Late payments may incur interest at 1.5% per month or result in cancellation.
3.4 Taxes & Fees: You are responsible for any applicable government taxes, park/conservation fees, VAT, international airport taxes, or additional charges not included in the quote.
  4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
4.1 Cancellations must be in writing. Refund eligibility depends on timing:
    • More than [e.g., 90 days] before departure: Full refund minus deposit/admin fees.
    • [e.g., 60–90 days]: [e.g., 50%] refund.
    • [e.g., 30–60 days]: [e.g., 25%] refund.
    • Less than [e.g., 30 days] or no-show: No refund.
4.2 Refunds exclude non-recoverable costs (e.g., paid park fees, lodge deposits). Force majeure cancellations follow clause 5.
4.3 We recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and evacuation.
  5. Liability & Limitations
5.1 Insurance: We carry public liability insurance per Kenyan standards, but we strongly recommend you purchase personal travel insurance (including medical evacuation, repatriation, baggage loss, and cancellation). We are not liable for losses not covered by your insurance.
5.2 Exclusions: We are not liable for delays, cancellations, losses, injuries, or damages due to force majeure (natural disasters, strikes, war, terrorism, government actions, pandemics, wildlife behavior, road conditions, or events beyond our control).
5.3 Claims: Any claims for loss, damage, or dissatisfaction must be submitted in writing within [e.g., 30 days] of tour end or expected end date, with supporting evidence. Liability is limited to the tour cost paid to us.
5.4 Wildlife & Nature: Animal sightings are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for wildlife incidents.
  6. Confidentiality We will treat your personal and booking information confidentially and not disclose it to third parties without consent, except as required by law or for service providers (e.g., lodges, guides).
  7. Termination We may cancel or terminate services for non-payment, breach of terms, or safety concerns, with no refund for obligations already incurred. Either party may terminate with [e.g., 30 days’] written notice for ongoing arrangements; pre-paid services remain subject to cancellation policies.
  8. Governing Law These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
  9. Amendments We reserve the right to update these Terms. Changes will be posted on our website (lifelinesafaris.com) and communicated to active clients where applicable. Continued use of Services constitutes acceptance.
